Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of youthful heartache earned her widespread recognition in the beginning of the 21st century. Swift was a fan of music since a young stage of her life. She quickly moved up the ranks, beginning with roles in children's theater and eventually singing in front of an audience of thousands. Swift started writing songs at the age of 11. Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game. She drew inspiration from the country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original music that was a reflection of her experience of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift's parents moved her to Tennessee when she was 13 after selling their Pennsylvania farm. The move gave Swift to devote more time trying to find labels that would promote country music in Nashville.
